Creating The Project

The process of creating the project can seem overwhelming in the beginning, but our process of breaking down the project into smaller bite sized pieces we call our " home owner Homework "  where we can access what you, the home owner need help with.  Weather it be help with finishing details such as color, texture or fabric selections with interior designers or help with the actual design process where we are creating the project weather it be a kitchen, bathroom, room addition or basement finishing.  We are able to provide assistance through the use of exceptional draftsmen, architects, and other design professionals, what ever we think will be the best value to you the customer.

If you have ever herd the old saying that is " A picture is worth a thousand words ", well that saying is never more true than when you are talking about remodeling in general.  We suggest that customers use magazine pictures or information they find on the internet to create there design idea shoe box, and then assemble this into an idea locker.  You may like the color of something in one picture, the trim detail in another photo or the general layout of a room from yet another picture.  We will use this information to help with beginning of the design process to flesh out the basics and get a good running start into our first round of drawings.

The best example of this was with a customer wanting her  interior stair landing to look a particular way and was unable to draw it or to even describe it very well because she didn't know what some of the detail  parts were called...  We started doing sketches but to no avial, she called one morning to say that she had finally found what she had wanted, in a magazine, the advertisment was for floor cleaner, but there in the background of the photo was her stair landing... exactly what she had wanted.   So there you have it, if you are stuck on an idea don't overlook any possable source.

Halet Remodeling & Renovations is a full service design build remodeling company, this means that we are able to take a project from concept, to drawings to " turn key completion " which means that a project is 100 % complete, all that is necessary is to move in to the space.  However some home owners want to be more involved because they have the time and skills to help there project along and to save some money in the process.

Depending on the size of the project we are able to accomodate most requests, you will be written into the schedule and given a completion date to be able to keep the project on track.  Most home owner involvment has been in the demolition or staining and painting phase of the project, home owners will  then be responsable for the outcome of there portion of the project.   Ask about details concerning this process.

What ever your project may be, decks, additions, basement remodels,  Halet remodeling can provide you with the appropriate show room to go and explore all the possabilities for your project, composite decking, sky lights, windows and doors, plumbing or lighting fixtures, wood flooring, carpet or ceramic tile.

Bathroom remodeling, again either a complete gut of existing or a face lift  of new fixtures while leaving the walls intact.

Basement remodeling or finishing.  Cutting in windows through the concrete block walls for legal bedrooms or just creating that " man cave" you have always wanted.

Room additions, weather it be an addition to create more room for that dream kitchen or bathroom or creating more room for a family room.  We can help you from design to completed project.

GOING UP !!  2nd story additions, with many people wanting to stay where they are but simply want more room for growing famlies, we have completed several 2nd story additions by removing the complete roof structure and doubling the size of the home.

Decks and screen porches, three season rooms.

Window and door replacements, whole house or one at a time.

Siding repair or replacement.

Whole house remodeling.

Condominium / Loft remodeling projects:  This is a very specialized process, we felt that it deserved its own special spot on our web site due to the completly unique nature of the project process.  If you need information on this process please click the Condo/Loft tab on the main page.

Light Commercial / Retail projects: We have been able to help those who also need work on commercial and retail projects , from remodels reconfiguring space or new build outs.  The only real difference between this and residential remodeling is Fire Code.  Nothing in a commercial space can be combustable, so the use aluminum wall studs and fire proof lumber ( yes there is such a thing ) are necessary.  My involvment as a volunteer firefighter for 15 years has given me very extensive knowledge of fire related issues in building and remodeling.
